Got a question... Will the pizza delivery guy take Discover Card? Hoping for any response. My other question... I dropped like 2-3 inquiries at the start of them falling (one fell on the first pull, one fell on the second pull, a third didnt fall on the third pull, but it finally fell on the fourth pull. Now 6 pulls later, no additional B* to the three that fell..

I tried using the method to predict, and it didn't work, because I had only 3 soft INQs in between the hards. Maybe I'm doing it wrong or maybe I'm getting chopped? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Yep, but you might want to make sure and wait for another commenter to confirm my answer as I am not very confident. Better yet, why don't you e-mail the Discover Card guys because they can answer your Discover Card question better...

Use SEARCH. And there's a recent thread about why it stops all of a sudden...

Which bureau?.

Each will take from 60-90+ softs before b happens. But there really are no rules. You likely started off with b in that pattern because you just started pulling softs, now it's leveled off (because the ones remaining are newer) and yes, choppage is also happening on EQ to many of us.....

Nope, that was the method I was using to predict the B*. I need to pull another report (for free) but TU wont let me do more than one in the same month..

The only problem is "B*" is too short of a word for the search engine to work, so I couldn't have done that. plus theres no harm in throwing in new activity on the forum, if everyone used the search there would be close to zero activity right about now.

I wish that were true, but most of my inquiries are old (and the softs as well). My CCT pulling didnt start until 11/2009..

The thing is I think there are rules of B* but with exceptions. Once they start working a certain way we can predict correctly. maybe I've got it wrong somewhere..

The certainty is that that each hard takes at least the number above pulls to B* off. They won't "go away" earlier. Even if you have succession with previous ones.....

Don't use it more than once a week...

I know what you're saying but I am within those number of pulls. I am close to 60 now if I haven't already reached it. I dont expect EQ to work for at least another month before I give up on it.

Been using that method for a while now (three disputes per report). what happens when you use it more than once a week?..

That's also the problem. So many threads on one same topic, and it can confuse people especially about b*. Read about advanced SEACH usage. It helps and will give you answers about b*...

Many, many people have been chopped by EQ within the last week or so. I'm one of them.....

Hey guys.

I just managed to pull a free TU report, and I'm not being chopped. The 3 INQs that fell off CCT with B* are also gone from the main report too so I'm excited about that..

And the softs are falling from the bottom of the stack as well. So how do I go predicting B* now? I'm at 50 or so pulls with TU. My oldest HARD is 5/2008 now, and the softs that were before it (3/2008, 4/2008, 4/2008, 5/2008) are all GONE, and the oldest soft is 11/2008..

Any tips?..

That sucks, CCN. The process of B* seems to be completely arbitrary; some get great results while others get nothing or chopped. This morning my TU is down to one inq from 7, yet I've seen NOTHING elsewhere...

In a nutshell, B* is "bumpage." When you pull your own reports from creditchecktotal.com or some other credit monitoring service, your own soft pulls will eventually bump off hard inquiries - the kind that hurt your credit. C* is "choppage," when the credit monitoring service removes all your soft pulls, preventing B*. (Very aggravating.) There are those here who can probably explain it a lot better, but now that you know what the letters stand for, you can look up the words in the search function and learn about it in more detail...

"B" HAS NO SET IN STONE RULES (EQ and TU).

You may be getting.

SOFT THEFT.

(as in "C").
