Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably can help you..

Oops, the AF is $39, not $3. I don't mind AFs, as long as their reasonable and the card is worth it..
Thanks, jtoast, for your thoughts... |

My capital one card definitely was in `credit steps', and I only got the bump from $300 to $500 after 3 months. Then about a year and a half later out of nowhere it went from $500 to $3,500. Same thing happened to my friend on a similar timeframe. Mine never had any annual fee though...

I've just hung up the phone with them. I have had a Discover card for almost 2 years, I got one guaranteed CLI after 3 months from $500 to $1500 and it has been staying there ever since. Customer service said they don't do CLI's on request, not even with hard pulls...

I think the only other way to get a CLI with cap one is to open a new card and combine the 2. others have had success doing this..

The "we don't allow you to request CLI's" is something new that began with the meltdown/new regulations of the Discover credit card market. Will they allow them again in the future....no way to know for sure..
With that said, Cap1 is not a bad lender as long as you don't burn them. If you burn them they will come at you and never stop.. EDIT:. Edited for political correctness.. This post has been edited by. Jtoast. : 06 January 2010 - 10:27 PM.. |
