My 1st question is: What is the definition of a "Lending Tree mortgage deed"? Looking forward for any comment. Another question on my mind: Now that I am on the way to establishing new credit after my discharge from C7 in early December 2002 I am tackling my "baddies".. |

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an good answer. You should email the people at Lending Tree as they probably could give you help..

Do all of them send updated reports after a dispute goes your way?? I have only received new reports from TU. I have NEVER received a new report from Eq or Exp - I usually buy a new one: when cw tells me an update has been made and when exp says they have my results. I never even thought about it either...hmmmm..

That's an interesting question. When I received my CRs in early February, only TU was showing my ex husband's AMEX account (I was an AU and only charged ~$100- long since paid off) in good standing - lol, since I knew his personal acct had been charged off and turned into nasty CA's about nine months before. Well I disputed this acct as "not mine" online in mid- Feb and several weeks later received a new TU report with "account deleted" on it..
But, late June 2002, I sent a letter to Chrysler (our leased vehicle had been taken to my ex's girlfriends and then my ex stopped paying for the car so it wasr epo-ed) saying I had months ago (November 2001) said our car was no longer garaged here. When this vehicle was auctioned in late April 2002, Chrysler implied that "we" (my ex and I) had concealed the car and so could not redeem it. So the letter I wrote to Chrysler asked "how could they imply that some type of concealment occurred" when I already sent them a letter in Nov 2001 telling Chrysler where to find the car (at ex-h's g/f). I included my Nov 2001 letter and also cc'd all three CRAs. Never did hear a word from Chrysler but in July 2002 got a new CR from Equifax stating that Equifax had "investigated" and "verified" our joint debt.. I realize that this is a lot to read but was hoping that my second mortgage situation would be similar because my Chrysler letter was not "precisely" a "dispute" of my debt either. I was just asking Chrysler why I could not redeem the car because I had done nothing shady... |

Kelcol,.
Where I live, Equifax is through CSC and they do always send me an updated credit report after an investigation.. Experian usually only sends me the results of the investigation, but sometimes sends me the results with a new report. I just called Experian to find out why this happens; the lady said that they ALWAYS just send the results. I then told her I was looking at a report they had sent after an investigation. She said that if I asked for an investigation on something, and it was already listed as I requested, they probably sent me a full report to show this. Looking back at the couple of reports I have received, this seems to be the case. I requested an investigation of a Verizon account, but by the time they did the investigation, it was already deleted, so they sent a full report. They also seem to send a report if they "Update" an account instead of just deleting it (but can't promise that). So maybe ask for an investigation on a bogus account to see if you get a free report! Worth a shot.. As you said TU always sends a new report... |

According to the FCRA they are supposed to send you a new report at the end of an investigation. Of course, EX doesn't think the FCRA applies to them:.
(B) Contents. As part of, or in addition to, the notice under subparagraph (A), a consumer reporting agency shall provide to a consumer in writing before the expiration of the 5-day period referred to in subparagraph (A). (i) a statement that the reinvestigation is completed;. (ii) a consumer report that is based upon the consumer's file as that file is revised as a result of the reinvestigation;. Write them a letter demanding your new report... |
