I have a corporate card with Amex and they didn't pull my report. If your company has a corporate card account set up with the Discover card company, then you are pretty much an authorized user and they won't pull your report. Esp since the company is responsible for the payment...

It depends on the company and how their agreement with the issuer is structured. I was declined for a Corporate Diners Club card about 5 few years ago and the company issued me a corporate AMEX instead...

It all depends on.

"IF".

You have to be any bit responsible for the debt if the company doesn't pay.

You could say it is the credit card's money you are spending.

TILL PIF..

DH has a corporate amex,.

They didnt check his credit report buts soft pull every month(which we didnt know till recently) for I presume the last three years.

BUT, it also doesnt report as an AU on his credit reports, which is a bummer.

He IS responsible for making timely payments and the bill until t went paperless, came to the house.

If it's late however, by so many days....the company gets an email from Amex and HR comes down on DH head.

This happened once when I was deployed and he thought I paid and I hadnt before I left.

Its depends on what your company has set up with Amex.....I doubt it'll be a prob if they require you to have it..

Wrong...wrong...wrong....

The company may or may not pull your credit report, but they can, and do. Most companies do not accept responsibility for the corporate card anyway. They don't want people going out and charging up tens of thousands of dollars in crap and utlimatly leaving the company with the bill..

I have a corporate Diners Club card. Diners Club pulled my credit initially, and issued the card. I know that Diners Club issues cards with no pre-set limit, and a high exposure limit, tens of thousands of dollars. I know that some people with a Diners Club get limited to a $10,000 exposure limit based on their credit. Diners Club assumes that since you work for company xyz that you are reasonably responsible enough to only use the card for corporate purchases, but it doesn't mean the company assumes liability for the card..

This could differ in everyone's situation. I just wish people would not post advise unless they know that they are correct...

My father has a corporate Visa Business card issued by a local bank and backed by Elan (or something like that.).

His scores are in the crapper with charge-offs from almost every major bank, etc... Yet his card has a $7000 limit..

I'm not sure if his credit was pulled, but I know that it does NOT report on any of his credit reports.....

Well I know for a FACT a hard inquiry was never done on my husbands report when issued the card.

Also FACT, it doesnt report to any of the three major bureaus.

And another FACT, he had sub 550 credit scores when the card was issued.

And one more FACT, in the afore mentioned late payment, the company gave him 3 days to pay it (we had already paid it by the time they found out) before THEYD pay it and take it out of his paycheck..

He was told if it happened again, the company would revoking the card..

I know in the case of my husbands agreement with his employer he is responsible for any personal purchases made with the card and any company expenses put through it, he is reimbursed....but he stills pays initially..

I WISH it reported to the bureaus because it would be helpful right about now.

To the original OP, I would either wait it out, took a grand total of 5 days to get the card in my husbands case OR.

Ask your boss if it's going to be a problem.

I think the entire thing will depend on the company's agreemtn with AMEX..

Corporate pays the bill we just submit the receipts of what we charge to them. Does that make a difference...
