First question I have is Is a Lending Tree mortgage property transferable to a buyer? Thanks in advance for any response. Second question.. I just got a letter from them that states, that even when I get out of the partial payment plan (tomorrow is the last payment), they will report me 120 days past due for the next seven years!!!!!!!!!!.

They insist that if they change it to R1, even though I am NOW R1, that it will wipe out all the old lates..

Am I crazy???? I thought the R status was the CURRENT status of the account?..

Of course! however you might want to make sure and wait for someone else to confirm this as I am unsure. Better yet, why don't you e-mail the Lending Tree guys because they can give you help better...

Jlynn, Citi reps are incompetent. I did a PFB and actually got some real action. Different issue, but I could never get anywhere with their basic reps. I was told all sorts of things, then a VERY nice lady called me and fixed my situation. I don't know if will help with you, but it worked for me. I just called a Citi number, got a manager, bogus!!!! I just PFB'd and faxed a letter to the Credit disputes department. I think they will be able to assist me and hopefully , you...

Jodi,.

The "R" status.

Is.

The current status. They are talking about the account history..

When did you first become delinquent. To state that they will report it 120 days late for the next 7 years one could reasonably interpret this to mean 7 years from the date of the letter, or last payment..

Since the law dictates 7 years from the date of original delinquency you may be holding in your hot little hands a violation, IN WRITING..

I'd need more info...

:)..

I thought so Butch, I just can't get that thru their *&^*% heads. Even after I sent them a copy of my snipped credit report, the swore that if they changed it to R1 (currently) by delinquencies would be deleted. Its just BS..

Ginger - this was via PFB. Ruth Weller, Office of the President is who I spoke to on the phone. Some manager reduced it to writing..

I guess I will bundle this up and send it to the AG and BBB and see if that gets their attention. Maybe I will send a nasty PUBLIC PFB to, just to make myself feel better...

Jlynn,.

If the account is open try to dispute it as having an incorrect c/l or something odd. You may get lucky and the entire tradeline may be deleted...

Reread my post above Jodi, I revised it..

Nah - you don't wanna do that just yet. Once the acct is paid maybe we can use it to beat them into submission..

:).

BTW - do you have the phone number for Ruth? I have a serious issue with these people too...

Butch - a prime example of typing with emotion. The letter says "this will remain on your credit profile for seven years". No "next" in there..

Interesting, they have never updated my DOLA from 4/2002 which is the last date we had made a payment until 11/02..

"however during the arrangement, the dates your payments are received are not reported"..

Thats double-edged. I only set myself up on the 6 month plan, which was just enough time to come in under the CL. They could probably argue that I never brought it current again since 4/2002 so that is the DOLA? A little misleading. It looks like I am 120 days past due, and have not made a payment in a year? Now how could that be accurate?.

Anyway, phone number 605-331-1852 , fax number 605-330-6780..

Tell the evil witch I'm not done yet!..

Butch, I can't wait till I pay this puppy off - it's a large chunk of change. The R5 status, plus "consumer credit counseling service" statement (they just put that there) is costing us 74 FICO points...
