Quick question... I need to topup my Discover Card, Cashplus card on sunday? Thanks for any response. 2nd question I got is.. A new collection appeared on my credit report. I never received any type of letter from the CA. Oh joy, yet another thing to fight to get off before next month€™s mortgage app. |

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an decent answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably know..
You are going into a.
MORTGAGE. With that many. "BADDIES". Showing???. (from your signature).. |
Until this just landed I was down to 2 on both Equifax and TU. Now I'm back up to 3...

18 sounds like a big number.
Are you going to have enough money for like 10% or 20% down.. |
No you€™re right George, it is a lot. All piled up on Experian who refuses to budge. All of these baddies are IIB and I have had perfect credit ever since filing in 2005 (was discharged in May, by the way). I€™d hoped for an FHA loan, but realize I may end up paying (with Discover card) a lot down for a conventional loan with my Experian report looking the way it does. We are going through my husband€™s company for the loan, a company that just so happens to be the largest mortgage provider in South Texas. We are hoping they will be able to work some magic considering that my other two reports just 2 baddies and all three of his have but 2.
But with a brand new collection reporting now, it€™s darn near impossible. That is why I€™m hoping for some direction from the experts. A clean credit report for the past 5 yrs (post BK filing ) was really my only Ace in the hole... |

THEY TAKE THE MIDDLE SCORE.
...but I have no idea how all the. "BADDIES". Are considered against you.. |
We got derailed talking about the mortgage, but can any help with my original question? Can Collection Agencies place items on your report without validation and notice?..
Yep. They do it all the time. They are not required to notify a consumer prior to adding a tradeline to someone's report..
Choices are to either wait, or be proactive and force them to get the ball rolling.. -R.. |
I gave you a suggestion in the post right after you asked the question...
Thank you mahler. I'll take that as a "yes", then....CA's can do whatever they please..
I will send the letter off today... |
Really? because I had something similar happen to me (tho I wasn't mortgage shopping, or applying for mortgage).
I simply wrote the Cra in question that "Never received initial communication from CA" and the Cra promptly deleted it, pretty quickly too... |
That is GREAT to know. I am going to try it today. Luckily it's not on Experian!..
Mine was listed on Experian if I remember correctly, and they promptly deleted it...
There is no legal requirement for anyone to notify a consumer prior to adding something to a consumers report..
Your dispute could have reached a consumer friendly CSR at the CRA... or a million other possibilities.. -R.. |
YMMV. That's not how it worked when junk debt popped up for me about 4 years ago. The CA never contacted me, but that did not stop them from verifying with the CRAs..

OP, I would maybe try disputing with the CRA like beli said, but I would also fire off a DV to the CA. Something simple to start out. It lets them know that you see them on your reports, and you want them to prove the debt is valid. Maybe that and the dispute with the CRA makes them fold quickly...

Isn't adding a tradeline to a report considered collection activity which they cannot do without dunning first?.
Am I reaching on this one???.. |
My thoughts exactly. I have already printed out letters to both CRA and CA..
It seems like this would be the case, but I guess it doesn't work that way. It SHOULD work that way though... |
