My 1st question is: How to get the government to pay off my Lending Tree mortgage? Looking forward for any comment. 2nd question I got is.. I got my cr and everything is correct except for my birthdate. just have the wrong day listed. and I am going to dispute that and also I want to dispute and get my previous addresses off. I am doing this online should I put have never lived at these addresses or ask to take them off because I have lived at my current address over 3 years? also on one of my dh cr it reports ALL of our previous addresses which is like 10 (because of military) going back to 1988. how should I handle getting all those off since I want to dispute some things at some of those previous addresses??..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Lending Tree as they probably could give you an answer..

To change your birthdate on your credit report you will have to send in a copy of your valid driver's license. The rest is easy. Just call them up and ask them to remove all old addresses and aliases. They will do it while you're on the phone. They will even ask you what address you want to use :).

While you're at it, ask them to remove your old job listings as well. If they ask you what job you are currently at, say whatever you want...

I did that (disputing address as incorrect), and got a "frivolous" response from EXP.

Just call them up and ask them to remove the address as it is old. They will ask for your new address. This is simple with Equifax. I know all 3 often check behind the other. Maybe the other 2 will fall in line..

But remember as soon as a creditor updates your file with a different address, the CRA will use that one...

I don't think anyone has gotten a frivolous response from trying to remove old addresses before. That's a new one! Try calling the CRA's. If you can get a nice rep on the phone, it shouldn't be hard to get rid of all the old addresses. Good luck..

Elle and SoParkDiva,.

Equifax and TU were cooperative and did remove all the old addresses; it is only Experian that is being a P-I-T-A..

I tried calling Experian twice, and both times got reps who told me that old addresses will remain on the report indefinitely ("we do not remove addresses, sir! There is no time limit to remove old addresses, sir!" .... ).

I even tried sending the dispute in writing, no dice! That's when I got the "frivolous" response.

Beginning to think that Experian is really Evil, after all!!..

That's weird. I have been able to have my old addresses removed from Experian via Credit Data Southwest (they are an affiliate). I sent them a letter with a copy of my credit report. In that letter, I stated my dispute. I gave them my addresses for the last 5 years (of course, only put in what you want to show up on your report), my social sec. #, and birthdate.

They were removed within a week. I guess you need to find out if your file is handled by an affiliate. If so, contact them and get their fax number so you can fax them the letter..

Hope that helps..
