Got a question, hope someone can answer... How to get commercial Lending Tree mortgage in UK? Thanks for any response. Second question.. First a little background info. Our credit stinks!! My son has a rare disorder that he was diagnosed with in '98. We got a consolidation Lending Tree loan soon after that.

Then we couldn't make our minimum payments. Now we are being charged OL fees every month.

He is much improved now and thigns are calmer. All of my CC except Citibank is OL. I've called and asked for help but they refused. First USA and MBNA have helped me though. I pay MBNA and citibank twice a month with the total being over my month payment.

THe only card I have been late onin the past 6 months is Asociates and they told me they don't report to the credit bureaus unless you are 60 dayslate. I haven't gotten my Lending Tree credit score yet. I'm pretty afraid of what I see :o(.

Anyway, are there any ways to get the CC's to waive some of the OL and late fees from our hard times?.

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at Lending Tree as they probably could help you..

Hi Batgirl,.

Welcome to the board..

You'll need to adopt a new attitude when trying to deal with these people..

Your attitude should be; "Look, you have 2 choices, 1) work with me or, 2) I file BK and you get nothing, what's your choice?.

You don't want to use the BK word but you can insinuate it, ie. "I will have to pursue far more drastic measures, etc" Believe me, they know what that means..

You should write out a full page on your hardship, explaining that you only fell behind because of serious illness, beyond your control..

Once completed, fax it to ALL your cards. Give them a few days to digest your letter and then call again..

DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER..

Your fighting a war for your family, so start fighting..

In the meantime pay what you can handle. They will come back and say that's not enough. Tell them it's all you can do right now..

Obviously if you can do something to bring in more money for your household that would help..

This won't be easy but it gets done all the time. Those who are successful tho, are the ones who WON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!.

:)..

Butch,.

That's good advice, I need toughen up huh? I can do that..

I've read and reread the FAQ's and lots of advice here. I will pull my CR and start cleaning it up. I'm sure it's bad through my own fault not errors so disputing it will be tricky..

My other question is I don't have a fax machine. Would I mail my letters to the billing address on my statements?.

Thanks so much for your time,.

There are loads of online fax services like this one:.

Btw batgirl... you are the batgirl! go get em :).

About 3 yrs ago I had some hard times, I called the creditors I had and explained my situation.. I used my dimples and they gave me a break..

Just remember to be nice but forceful... I tend to not ask as much as state nicely what I would like... also suck up to them.. say oh hi betty how are you today :) they like that :).

Good luck!..

I use faxaway.com, and I love it. I can receive faxes for free, and it's .11 per page to send. I put a deposit of $10, and I've only used 1/2, and I used it ALL the time. I highly recommend it. Good luck to you!!..

Batgirl,.

Read the back of your statements. Sometimes disputes and communications need to be sent to a different address..

Good Luck!..

One more question. Is there a standard form letter to ask to remove old late and OL fees that has been successful? I've searched the site and came up with letters to remove negatives from CR, but not to remove old OL fees..

TIA,.

What I would do is call the credit company.. explain the situation to the rep who answers. if they wont do anything, ask for the supervisor.

Try planet feedback if that does not work.

Last yr I had $100 in late fees that no one would remove. it was their error... finally one saturday morning I called and got the nicest manager... she said she would take care of it, sure enough it was removed and she personally sent me a note :).

Remember to suck up!..

Hey an update!! I tried the advice on Chase. I called and was really sweet, but firm. There is a hardship program that they will try to get me on. The program will stop all fees. They cannot remove or waive the excessive OL fees because the account is OL (WTF??)..

The supervisor was very receptive. Thanks so much for the advice..
