Question I have... How do I register my Discover Card gift card? Looking forward for any answer or 2. Another quick question... Anyone know of a Cu/Bank that will allow a secured card if you have. |

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably could give you help..

With all the turmoil Bofa seems to be going through lately on the Discover credit card side (and I realize all banks are doing this to some degree, but more so BOFA) I'd rather stay farrrrrrrrrrrrrr away from them... |

Try USAA. Open a savings account because they're Chex friendly. Once a member, send them an email on their email system and tell them you heard through a friend about their secured card and ask for an app...

On the Penfed site it lists membership eligibility. You can become eligible by joining an association...

Really I thought you had to be in goverment/and or army/navy etc for Penfed. I got a few more cleaning up to do on my Cra's then i'll try PenFed..

I have one paid entry and one unpaid entry on chex I cant find ANY secured card that is decent. I want a BOA but thanks to the EX I was on a checking acct that ODd and COd in 2005...they wont even give me a checking acct there.
USBank will take anyone on the secured afaik, I have one, have had it a year, when I got it I had about 6 chex entries (both paid and unpaid) and 28 negs on my report...(korean air secured card).. |

I talked to an Underwriter at USBank and told them I was interested in their secured card when I heard they won't take anyone that has a Bankruptcy listed. I explained my situation(two Co's and bankruptcy listed 8 years ago, now) and she said once I got the CO's taken care of I should be fine for the secured card..
Otherwise if I tried before, they would more than likely deny me... |

Wonder if that is new? I am having issues with my secured US Bank card, where it was accidentally closed, the guy I talked to told me if they didnt reopen it to just send the deposit back to them with a new app and they would just open a new one...now I am afraid ill do that and be declined...UGH.....

Yeah, anyone can get a savings account with 9 day holds on all deposits, but ANYONE can't get a secured card.
