Got a quick question: Have you ever tried using your Discover Card to pay off your Visa card? Many thanks for any response. My 2nd question... "B" for EQ and TU. |

IIRC Citi and BOA hard pulled for a deposit acct. Alliant CU hard pulled for a checking/deposit acct..
Some reported Schwab brokerage or checking apps hard pulled (not IME) YMMV. Freeze the CRAs before going on a checking app spree. They can refuse to open the acct. But it can avoid some random hard pulls for non-credit products. Banks can still pull Chex for checking... |

I should find a bank here that pulls.

Most banks do now. If the credit is OK they don't do chexsystems, but if the credit is bad they pull chex also...

I work for a fairly large bank that isn't BOA, Citi, or Chase. Not one mentioned here much actually... We pull EQ for ALL deposit accounts except Health Savings Accounts..
I suspected it from day one, (due to the hard pull when I opened my OWN account without a credit app involved) but it took 6 months before someone confirmed within the company that yes, we do indeed pull EQ as a HARD for a checking account. It used to be a soft but is now a hard... |
