I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Discover Card as they probably can help you..

It must vary from place to place. I've been told no sig is required for <$50 at Home Depot, <$20 at El Pollo Loco <$10 at McD and I NEVER get asked.

For a sig for my beef jerky from 7-Eleven..

I think the least I ever spent in Costco was around $200. It is next to impossible to spend <$100. How can you resist a bulk package of 20,000 Q-tips???..

Yeah, I always come home and wonder why I bought all the stuff I bought..

I've noticed Target does not require a signature for amounts below a certain amount. I think it is $50. I'm guessing it is to speed up the line. I'm all for that. Clerks rarely look at the signatures anyway...

When I sign, it is more of a 'creative scribble' than legible script...

Almost all merchants now are now going by the guide lines of under <$20 requires no signature, yet it's stupid if you ask me, you go on a stolen card spree and just keep it under that with every purchase... boom...

Yet a signature means crap, I sign one line every single time I sign for my card, no one looks, no one cards, shit who in the hell is even going to put the effort into matching things up.. besides they don't have your signature on file the best they can do is turn your card around....

This must have changed just recently. I went there earlier this week, and noticed this. At my last visit, I had to sign, though.....

Won't a stolen card still fail an authorisation request even for $10 though.

I don't think I could use 250 in 36 months.

(I think that was the last one I bought sometime more than a year ago).

20,000..

Target's does it instantly. I don't think they actually 'authorize' the card until your well on your way.....

CostCo changed the policy about two or three months ago. The only place that makes me sign for any Discover card purchase, regardless of amount, is Ralph's Grocery. So annoying!.

I don't care if I sign or not.

(as long as they don't ask for ID)..
