My question is Can you reload a Discover Card gift card? Looking forward for any answer. My 2nd question... I made a cash deposit Sun. of 3,809 at a Wells Fargo Branch in HEB while visiting. |

Yep, but you might wanna make sure and wait for someone else here to confirm my answer as I am not sure. Better yet, why don't you contact the Discover Card guys because they can assist you better...

I really hope that is the case. I have learned to always check account # and deposit amount.
And dates and everything from now on for accuracy... |

Thanks Bob, it seems everytime I get relaxed a bomb drops..
I got my Ex packet today for my CR freeze and the other 2 I did online.. I was feeling comfortable that no CA can pull another hard on me and. Everything is b. I only pull once a day now, I don't want to get to relaxed. Anymore. I always have to check to see what is going on... |

I'm one of the last ppl to ever play grammar police, but your your post is very cofusing in both it's wording as well as it's structure. You say the payment went through for $4976 but FIA wasn't paid??? And If you were looking at your checkbook, why not use a preprinted deposit slip? I'm not trying to be a jerk. I just don't get your post, other than the fact that the $3k was put in someone else's account. If thats the case, I would take the deposit receipt back to the branch and have them look up where my money went. Rather than rely on a phone call to the 800 #'s CSR...
|
|
Thanks for your reply. I did not have anymore preprinted deposit slips in that checkbook and have used the banks many times.
And this have never happend. I did not put the wrong account #.. And FIA was scheduled on line to come out of that account today and it was already processed, that is. Why I called FIA to explain why the money maynot be there. I called Wells Fargo 800 because that was. The only way I could report it because the branch was closed. I will be going to the branch first thing. Tomarrow and hope it WILL be easy to resolve and no Foul Play... |
|
Gotcha. Yeah, the branch should be able to look up the transaction without a problem. But still thats crazy. From now on, I'm gonna be looking at my deposit receipts more closely before I leave the bank. I like you, usually just check the amount, and have never looked at the last 4 of the account #. Hope it goes smoothly for you tomorrow...

Does your bank have online banking? Why not login to check for the deposit? My bank immediately shows a deposit online when I take cash/checks to the bank...
|
|
I did that is how I found the deposit was not there and looked at my receipt and seen the wrong account #..
I really logged in to see if Schwab payment had come out because this has never happened.. I wish I had of noticed it when I was at the bank or even checked my balance Mon. when I could have canceled Schwab. And saved that troube... |

This is one reason I refuse to do any business with Hells Fargo. My best friend had the same experience a year or so back. He got it resolved within a few days (Friday-Tuesday, I believe - weekend delayed things a bit)..
Hopefully this gets resolved quickly for you.. Reading this thread, this is one thing I like about banking with Citibank - you swipe your debit card and enter your PIN because ANY teller transaction takes place - thus it's pretty hard to mess that up and have the teller deposit to a completely incorrect account, since you're essentially telling the computer which account to pull up for them... |
|
One more suggestion (that I hope doesn't come across as gratuitous.
:. Like you, when I used to frequently make deposits to my checking account I would run out of deposit slips before using up a book of checks. My remedy was to order a separate supply of printed deposit slips that I kept in the back of my checkbook. (My bank supplied them at no cost). This ensured I always had a supply of pre-printed slips and eliminated the need to occasionally use a blank... |
|
I will use them from now on. I have more checks with them in it. I was just trying to use that check book up, but.
Seeing I only write a few checks it will be a long time. I am going to do that now.. I do see where I can order more I will call today.. Called and they want to charge me 5.99 for extras I am going to just use the ones from my other 11 check books for now.. This post has been edited by. Wanabe. : 06 January 2010 - 08:13 AM.. |

Teller mistakes happen often... I also use WF..
Most recently (in the last 6 months), I've had numbers transposed on a deposit (in their favor) - it was fixed over the phone because I noticed within about 15 minutes when I got home.. Prior to that they deducted the same amount in two different debits (for 15K+ for my house closing. - also resolved immediately).. Do NOT go through the 800 number... Call the branch directly, you might not even have to go in... |
|
I went to the branch and was the first in line before opened..
They had to find my original bank deposit slip and saw that my correct account # was on it and. Put the money into my account and said if any fees were going to be charged they will refund them.. FIA had already come in and put my account - $2000 something. My balance on schwab online. Showing they received the payment and I have a 0 balance. Hopefully it will balance out before. Any return charges from FIA or overdraft fees, even though both FIA and Wells said they will remove fees... |
|
Sounds like they did everything they could. The one thing they obviously couldn't do was go back in time and undo it (unfortunately)..
WF *does* show pending transactions online, FYI... |
