My 1st question is: Can a prepaid visa or Discover Card be used in the Philippines? Thanks in advance for any answer or 2. My 2nd question... Before I discovered the boards I paid a collection agency for an unpaid AT&T bill. The total was $80.. |

Yup, but... you might wanna make sure and wait for another commenter to confirm it as I am not quite sure. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the Discover Card guys because they can answer you better...

This is only one year old placed in collection 10/08 and paid in 12/08. It's reporting as a payment after charge off collection. It says settled for less than full balance which may not be correct. I believe I paid the full balance. Should I dispute based on that?..

You may be able to attack it based on them reporting it is not paid in full. Maybe some other will have some suggestions here...

You might also be able to dispute it as it was not a Charge off.
Ca's cannot be charged off, You didn't have credit with them.\. Was the $80 dollars some kind of settlement offer? Maybe the full balance was 160 or something like that and they sent you a letter saying they'd take 50% off? Hence the "Settled for less" comment?. This post has been edited by. First file a complaint with the MA AG. Then once you get your letter from the MA AG confirming receipt of your dispute, dispute the TL with the CRA's...
Dispute with the CRAs first. That's how I was able to get my paid collection deleted. Some CAs couldn't care less about responding to disputes once they get paid...

If I am correct he is referring to Collection Company of America..I could be wrong, but ATnT usually sends their debt there...
What do you mean about the name being a violation? It literally says the collection agency name is "CBA Collection Bureau of America" on my EQ, EX, & TU..
Thanks folks for responding. I'll take your suggestions and get back to you with an outcome... |
If it is collection bureau of america then the word "bureau" could be construed as a violation...
