Got a question... Airport christmas Discover Card advert music? Thanks in advance for any comment. Second question.. So I recently opened a Princess Reward Visa.. $1000.00 CL. I only opened it cause I cruise on Princess alot, and I wanted to take advantage of the points...

Anyways, when I got the card, I immediately did a balance transfer for $750.00 to close my dang Aspen card. They had a point-balance transfer promotion, so kill 2 birds with one stone!.

I also charged a 100.00 deposit for a carnival cruise I will be taking, gas... and a lunch out. Nothing "frivolous".

Anyways, I made an 800.00 payment, $500.00 from one account, and $300.00 from other account on two separate days..

I go to use my card to buy airfare for a "Princess" cruise I just booked, and see my payments have not been posted. I call and ask why... I am told, because I made two payments in the same billing cycle, there is a 10 day hold on the payments. If I made one, there would have been no hold. huh?.

Ok.... I ask to talk to a manager..

The manager gets on the phones and says he can not release the hold due to the "spending on the account". I told him that I did a balance transfer, and a few other purchases not even totaling $150.00...now I am trying to book a flight with my Princess Visa to fly to my "Princess" cruise... (ironic).

He said sorry.. There is nothing he can do because of my "credit profile".

(I have NO baddies at all, less than 10% utl on all accounts "if" they release this dang payment lol, I own a home, ummm???).

Man I hated being treated like a 2nd class person... I was SO offended.

Yes, I could just buy the flight on my debit card and forget it, but the whole point it I want to earn the points and PIF at the end of the month..

I would close this card but I really will use the points, I am still thinking about it....

Just had to vent....

Why not directly pay from your bank's bill pay? May eliminate the hold..

I use it on my HSBC card, I schedule the payment(through my banks bill pay) and it is credited that day...

Point is, I made a payment twice during my billing cycle, it doesnt matter if it was through bill pay, or though a one time payment. The money has been withdrawn from my account, and the manager told me it has been credited to my visa, it is just on "hold" because I made too many payments.... I guess they don't like money..

It does matter..

Electronic payments from your bank's bill pay are considered "guaranteed" funds and are posted to your account and available just about immediately. ACH payments are not until the time limit for a reversal has expired..

I make several payments each month on my Barclays/Juniper card as well as others via my bank's bill pay. The funds are always available immediately or at the latest the next business day...

I can see a bank not wanting 10 x $3.00 for a $30.00 statement (one month).

But making 2 or 3 payments for over $1,000 total hurts who..
