My 1st question is: 80/20 Lending Tree mortgage, info on it and is it good? Thanks for any response. My 2nd question... Hello people..

I have a little problem with TU. Just to re-cap..

I send a dispute letter to TU listing few items. out of 4, 3 got deleted but one came back as verified (yeah right - I wonder how) so I send a re-investigation letter to them for that item. (its a listing from Sherman Acq which shows as paid) I don't remeber paying anything to Sherman Acq for any of the amount that is listed on my CR..

Anyways, I got a letter today saying that the won't re-re-investigate this listing and basically told me to contact Sharman Acq. They provided me with their address and phone number..

What should I do now? The thing that pisses me off is that it should be my job to investigate this stuff! They messed up and now I have to do their work???? WTF!!!.

What shoudl I do?..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at Lending Tree as they probably could give you an answer..

Yes they did use frivilous term..

No they didn't mark it on the CR as "in dispute".

They basically told me that they already investigated it, and told me to contact the Shrman Acq....

Is it time for ITS letter?..

Did you ever deal with Sherman in the past? Is the debt they allege something you paid to another ca, or something that may have been include in any bk?.

Give some more details on the alleged account. Sherman is a bottom feeder that often buys extremely old, included in bk, uncollectible debt...

I don't recall dealing with Sherman Acqisition. It shows on my credit report as Paid Collection, with 0 balance. It shows Original Creditor on it but the original creditor listing doesn't show on my CR. THis is not mine! I do have couple tradelines from the original creditor but they are all in good standing and old listings which were my car loans! The SA listing is for a small amount..

I never filed bk nor dealt or send SA ANY CHECKS for the amount that they list on this tradeline..

It shows closed at the end of 2001 and paid in 2001.

WTF IS THIS!! Agghh!!.

You know, this is really f***ed up that CR can simply verify the information. HOW??? I asked them that in the re-investigation letter and they fired back with "contact Sherman Acq" SOmeone is no doin their job and now I have to run around and waste time on researching this crap! This is bs!!.

So what should I do? I don't want to file a suit YET, but if it's necessary I will..

Any ideas? ANy other info you guys need?..

My suggestion would be to send Sherman a validation letter, certified mail r/r/r. Make them prove what they are reporting...

Thats what I thought....

I got one ready to go with CRRR slips on it....

Should I provide them with copy of my driver's license?.

What should I include in it besides the letter? I never send a validation letter before and I am not sure what should I include for proff of my identity. I don't really feel comfortable sending them copy of my drivers license.....

You are sending this to Sherman. Do not send any proof of anything. Period. They allege it - let them prove it. Don't help them by providing ID. Send only the letter and type your name at the bottom as usual, but I never hand signed my signature. Who knows what they might do with it...
